The Engine Alliance (EA) is a 50-50 joint venture of General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE) and Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX). Amy Johnston has been appointed president of Engine Alliance in February 2019.
Amy joined Pratt & Whitney in 1997 and has held roles of increasing leadership responsibility in aftermarket operations, engine overhaul and materials management.
In 2013, Amy was appointed General Manager of Pratt & Whitney Materials International Sàrl based in Lucerne, Switzerland. In this customer-facing role, she led an international team providing material solutions to MRO and airline customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
Prior to Switzerland, Amy was the director of operations at the Turkish Engine Center in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2009, she helped launch TEC, a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Turkish Technic for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of turbofan aircraft CFM56 and V2500 engines. Amy has also held several supply chain and operations roles across a variety of MRO sites.
Amy received a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
Before joining Engine Alliance, David was the finance manager for GE Aviation’s GEnx services business. David has 18 years of GE Aviation financial management experience in services, commercial engines, supply chain and shop operations. David graduated from the University College of Swansea with a bachelor’s degree in management science and qualified as a chartered accountant in the United Kingdom with Ernst & Young.
Natalie joined GE Aviation in 2000 as an Edison Engineer and has held positions of increasing responsibility across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial Services prior to joining the Engine Alliance in 2019 as the EA-West Executive Program Manager and EA Executive Vice President.
Natalie’s 19 years of experience includes roles such as GP7000 Structures Design Engineer, Design for Six Sigma Black Belt, Large Military Rotating parts Engineering Design manager, Structural Engineering Design manager, MRO repair industrialization leader for Supply Chain, and Services Maintenance Cost Board Chairman for a commercial program.
Natalie holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University, and MBA from Xavier University. She is married to Tim Stone, and has two beautiful children Kate and Jack that keep her very busy with sports activities and traveling as a family.
Shannon joined Pratt & Whitney in 1997 as a Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) process engineer. Since then she has held several positions with increasing responsibility in program management, contracts and aftermarket operations for both Pratt & Whitney and International Aero Engines. Shannon joined Engine Alliance in 2011 as Aftermarket Services Leader responsible for network capacity and performance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in material science engineering from Lehigh University, an MBA from Indiana University and a Juris Doctor from University of Connecticut School of Law.
Eddy started with GE in 1995 as a sales engineer in industrial systems. He then filled several roles supporting aeroderivative product lines, later becoming strategic development manager for the division. In 2014, Eddy joined the EA as Vice President of Sales and focal point for Air France, Transaero Airlines and Air Austral. Eddy earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Ohio State University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Mary began her career as a structural design engineer before joining GE Aviation in 1998 as a Configuration Design Engineer. She’s since held several leadership roles within the product support and marketing divisions, most recently acting as Marketing Manager for the GEnx Program. Mary is a graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in structural engineering and an MBA from Xavier University.
Barrow Shurn was appointed Director of Product Support Engineering for Engine Alliance in May 2019.
Barrow joined Pratt & Whitney in 1999 into the Aftermarket Engineering Development Program. Since then she has held roles of increasing leadership responsibility in Global Services Engineering, Industrial Operations and Customer Technical Services. Barrow gained aftermarket operations experience onsite at Dallas Airfoil Repair Operations (DARO) as a repair design engineer for HPT and LPT airfoil repairs. She also spent 3 years in Singapore as a Deputy Sector Manager for GSE-Asia, leading and training a team of repair engineers to support turbine airfoil repair operations in the Asia region. Barrow then joined the Industrial Operations organization supporting integration activities for our NGPF partners, helping to execute objectives for production and capacity ramp readiness. In 2016 she was appointed Production Chief for OCE supporting industrial operations on our legacy commercial engine programs.
Barrow received a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.
Robyn joined GE in 1987 as an Edison Engineer and has held positions of increasing responsibility across Engineering, Commercial Engines, and Services prior to joining the Engine Alliance in 2019 as the EA-West Program Chief Engineer and Product Support Engineering Leader. Robyn’s experience includes roles such as Continental Airlines Field Representative, F120 & F110 Turbine Design Engineer, Master Black Belt, TECH56 Staff Engineer, CFMI Product Support Integrations Director and GE90 Business Programs Manager. In 2005, Robyn became the Boeing Programs Director for CFM Project where she was responsible for chairing the Program Control Board & the Safety Program Management Team. From there, Robyn Led the CFM Platform Material & Services organization, where she was responsible for driving the platform profitability and strategy across our business and in the marketplace. Most recently, she was the SMS (Services Modeling and Signaling) Leader focused on translating the new revenue recognition rules into an operating process, including a simpler, smarter, faster CMR framework, and a continuous real-time productivity process leveraging Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts.
Robyn holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and an MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Mark Brands, for almost 30 years and she is from a GE family with their immediate family having over 185 years of experience at GE.
Rich joined Pratt & Whitney in 1999 and has held positions of increasing responsibility all within engineering before joining the Engine Alliance in 2018 as the EA-East program chief engineer. Rich has broad aerospace experience in commercial, military and technology programs. Past assignments include Industrial Engines chief engineer, Mechanical Systems engineering manager for the PW1500G/PW1200G/GTF Demo, and project lead for Mechanical Systems technology rigs/military demonstrator programs.
Rich holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
