THE ENGINE ALLIANCE PROGRAM
The GP7000 family is derived from two of the most successful wide body engine programs in aviation history – The GE90 and PW4000 families. These engines have demonstrated industry leading ETOPS reliability from service entry. Building on the GE90 core and the PW4000 low spool heritage, the GP7000 is a refined derivative with a responsible infusion of new, proven technologies.

The GP7000 engine has benefited from the ongoing technology programs at GE and P&W, and is now positioned to provide best-in-class performance and reliability for the next generation of very large aircraft. Now the Engine Alliance has the opportunity to provide the GP7200 for the Airbus A380.

The Engine Alliance is offering the GP7200 for the Airbus A380 passenger and freighter configurations. The GP7200 is certified at 76,500 lb. (340 kN) and 81,500 lb. (363 kN). The engine will be offered with two ratings appropriate for today's A380 configurations and take off weights: GP7270 for the 560 tonne passenger version and GP7277 for the 590 tonne A380-800 freighter. The 81,500 lb thrust level will be available to accommodate any future higher capacity A380 variants.
